Andy, I'm glad you suggested it. We need more ideas and suggestions to help move the group forward. I'd like to see everyone contribute to this group in some way, that way, we really are a team.

With the two MG-42's that we have for games, I had thought about a 2nd team mate to buddy the role of taking over the MG if the gunner was taken out. The 'gunner'smate' would need to have a smg of some form - to assist with the short range engagement rules to defend - those roles would be interchangeable etc.

Looks like CiA December game is possibly going to be covered by - Pete & his Bro and Me & Keith(Forester) initially on support weapons.

Depending on that days play and future engagement, there will be a need for fellow KGSS to take over the support weapons when required.

Things can/will be discussed at the training day, demonstration's on how the MG's work etc

Let's send the Allies back to the sea, rather than follow history

Del

Definitely a great idea that Steiner - I know I for one am a bit rubbish at judging distances - either that, or everyone I 'hit' is a cheat, which is unlikely - :D

I'd be up for getting to know how the MGs work JD - when and if the ACM 32 comes out, I quite fancy one - not the only one there though I guess - :good:

Thanks John - yeah, she is great - we're loving every minute of it at the mo - long may that continue.

That was exactly my thought, Del. Also to provide protection against flanking, and to cover when the MG is reloading.

Ah my dear Steiner, glad to have you on board - i think for all KGSS group member's the way forward - is depend on your fellow team member, like your mum - always there for you, she'll kick the school bully up the arse if required and she'll never let you make the wrong choice.

P.S. My mum appears to be a serious party member - saying, the 3rd Reich will win everything from tic-tac-toe to Deutchopoly.

a bit of a bonus here

my bro, has spoken to me today, hes asked what kit he needs to get for december to join KGSS

hes also booked in to play the december game

im telling him just to get some oak camo for now, and build the rest up slowly

hes also started work on his `42 again, (it only needs internals doing, externally its complete) so we may have 3 MG 42s in the field :good:

Tony, he doesn't need to get any kit to join KG SS. Between us, I'm sure we could rustle up a decent loadout for him on the day. No problem with building his kit over time. I'll just be happy to see him! (especially if he's coming to the pre game social  ). I don't want anyone to think that they have to go out and get all of the kit to join us. Let me know if I should add him to the memberlist and give him access to this private forum as well. :good:

Would be good if you can make it Nelz. The terrain isn't all that combo friendly (you'd need someone putting their weight on the back wheel in some places) but there are tracks criss crossing the site. Access to the safezone is definitely ok for a combo. I'll commandeer it as a "staff car" if my back isn't better!

I've updated the first posts' content a bit, to save adding a post which might get missed. Anyone got anything that they feel we need to cover and will be of use? Let us know!

Again, to avoid it getting missed, the first post is updated with a draft training itinerary.

Anybody got a chrono, btw? I had a quick couple of blasts with my new MP40, and it was chopping my hedge up! Then next door's ruddy dogs started barking, so I came in. My old MP40 used to chrono about 313 - this one seems a bit higher than that!

We can do the "poor mans'" chrono' if you don't already know how to do it. I seriously doubt if it will be at the same kind of velocity that some of the China Thompsons and M14's are. I had one of the lenses of my safety glasses actually knocked out of its' frame by a burst of auto from a yank at Husky!

The air nozzles seem better in the newer ones but I doubt it will be over 350fps, I just sold my origional MP40 one & have a later one now,

Well, it has the Fire Support upgrade applied - but I doubt they would make it more than 350fps, I guess....?

You'll be fine mate. Unless they put a stupid spring in it (like an M130 or more), which I doubt.

By the way, 2 weeks to go to the TD! I can't wait.

@Steve (et al) - the "2nd generation" MP40s are a lot better than the first batch.

Less than 2 weeks to go... crumbs this has seemed such a long wait!
